Edwards nEXT turbomolecular vacuum pumps combine turbopump stages with followed by a drag stage(s) on the same shaft. It is a compound pump, employing a new mechanism, which offers greater reliability and even better light gas pumping and compression ratios.
nEXT turbomolecular vacuum pumps combine permanent upper magnetic levitation suspension with lower ceramic bearings. They are available in pumping speeds ranging from 47 to 1250 l/s and flanges sizes from DN40 to DN200 - NW, CF and ISO-K.
Edwards nEXT turbomolecular vacuum pumps combine permanent upper magnetic bearings with lower ceramic bearing using a patented bearing suspension system that minimises noise and vibration transmitted to the vacuum system.
An oil lubrication cartridge change can be performed where fitted, the lower bearings have a typical lifetime of at least 4 years without maintenance, after which they can be replaced simply and economically by the customer or by Edwards Iberica Vacuum.
The nEXT family of products is a flexible and modular platform that can be adapted to individual needs and applications.
From cooling fans, water cooling blocks and heater bands, to vent ports with automatic valve accessories for rapid venting and quick cycle times, and purge ports for safe operation when pumping specialised gases, the nEXT standard accessories can help you optimise the performance and lifetime of your nEXT turbo on your specific application.
The TIC (Turbo and Instrument Controller) provides total system control and automatically recognises and supports the nEXT Turbo pumps, plus up to three Edwards active gauges. Cooling and vent valve support is provided directly from the controller. The TIC controllers also control backing pumps, either directly or via the relay box. Time delays and normal speed signals may be used to control events such as turbo start and there is a comprehensive selection of protection and safety interlock features. The TIC turbo controller can either be rack or bench mounted and provides a useful hub for the flexible operation of a wide range of vacuum system configurations.
The TAG (Turbo and Active Gauge) controller is a small, compact, low cost pumping system controller, which is suitable for a wide range of vacuum applications. It is compatible with the nEXT Turbo pumps. A separate 24V controller is required to power the TAG controller and connected Gauge. In addition to a turbomolecular pump it can control a backing pump, a vent valve, an air cooler and an Edwards active gauge. The TAG controller is controlled by an easy to use interface. A large clear LED display shows the pump speed or vacuum pressure. The compact size of the controller is ideal for use on bench-tops or suitable mobile platforms.
The nST Software allows manual control of the pump and the vent valve. Displays real time operational information. The pump may be fully configured for operational and service parameters. Select from the range of data which should be logged, allowing multiple data in parallel displayed as a chart or in a CSV data file in real time.
All pumps can operate on a voltage from 24 to 48V and include an on-board controller. They link directly with Edwards' TIC and TAG controllers and can be interfaced with the customer's own system to provide power, control and communications through parallel or serial (RS232 & RS485) communications using both DX and Modbus protocols.
nEXT pumps provide useful variables for input (standby speed, power limit, vent control options including pulsed venting etc.), and output (speed, power, voltage, current, motor/controller temp, pump status)
nEXT turbomolecular pumping stations are configurable with turbomolecular pump speeds ranging from 47 to 400 l/s and a choice of oil sealed or dry backing pumps ranging from 1 to 20 m3/h. All our nEXT turbomolecular pumping stations feature an integrated TIC turbo and instrument controller offering full control of the package via a simple intuitive interface.
The nEXT turbomolecular pumping stations are supplied fully assembled and ready to run straight out of the box and include common accessories such as mist filters and mains cables as appropriate to the chosen pumps. As fully featured high end stations they include RS232 serial communications and Windows® software for monitoring and control.
Our T-Station is a low cost, compact turbomolecular pumping station that seamlessly combines an nEXT85H turbomolecular pump with either a dry diaphragm or oil sealed backing pump, and a simple controller, providing pumping speeds of 47 to 84 l/s.
The T-Station comes with an integrated TAG controller which enables single button start/stop of the system. With the ability to control one of our active gauges, vent valve control and delayed start of the turbomolecular pump to either time or pressure if a gauge is fitted.
The integrated air cooler acts to cool internal power supply and pump/controller for quiet operation avoiding multiple fans.
